Lefthead is looking for a vocalist!

Lefthead is looking for a dedicated vocalist to complete our line-up. Our sound is a complex cocktail of progressive goodness, with a focus on odd time signatures and melody driven guitar lines. If you are interested in joining a dedicated group of accomplished musicians here are the steps you should take:

1. Listen to our sound.
2. Review the list of criteria below
3. Introduce yourself and get in touch with us
4. Prepare a sample of your singing (see guidelines below)

1. Our sound:
You can listen to our sound on MySpace or on our own website at: www.myspace.com/lefthead or www.lefthead.com

2. Criteria:
- Age: The current members of Lefthead are between 26-30 years old. For this reason, there is a natural age range which would allow for the greatest level of compatibility, most notably in the area of 20-35. However, we do not wish to discourage anyone from auditioning based on their age alone.

- Gender: We welcome both Male and Female singers.

- Experience/Talent: We are looking for a very confident singer. Singing in key and on pitch is a must. Experience in previous bands is highly valued. The perfect candidate will also command a strong presence and on-stage energy becoming of a frontman/woman, and will also possess an overall positive attitude and respectful manner. We are open to a range of vocal styles.

- Work Ethic: We are looking for someone who is committed to pursuing music and who can set their intention on making this happen. We are all dedicated musicians and have been playing all our lives. While we all have day jobs, music is our passion and the reason for waking up in the morning.

3. Introduce Yourself:
If you liked our sound, and fit the criteria above, then get in touch with us and introduce yourself. You can reach us either via our MySpace (www.myspace.com/lefthead) or you can email us directly at lefthead@lefthead.com.

4. Sample:
We would like to receive an initial sample of your singing, which demonstrates (a) your voice, (b) your style and (c) your ability to write melodies. All three are equally important and will be taken into account. We recognize the limitations of home recordings and will naturally not judge you on the quality of the recording. Preferably, you can download one of our songs, record yourself singing over this (easily accomplished in Garage Band or other music software), and then send us the resulting mp3. Recordings with previous bands are also acceptable.

Lori has decided to leave Lefthead...

Hello everyone,
Lori has decided to not participate any further as Lefthead's vocalist. The five of us sat down last night over coffee and tea to discuss a few things. The end result being that both parties, Lefthead and Lori, will be actively pursuing music.
The remaining members of Lefthead wish her only the best in her future musical endeavors. With her performance resume, they are sure to be uniquely beautiful.
Good bye, Lori. And good luck.

Ian

P.S. The remaining members of Lefthead will begin searching for a vocalist. We tried to do the Isis, Helmet, Opeth, Mastodon thing... but we can't sing.

I fucking love my...

Yes I do, we had a pretty sweet show tonight and I'm very happy about that. I'm also very happy that we had as many friends come out tonight to support us. Playing in Studio 7 was really cool, the sound and stage were top notch.
Thanks to Universal Measure, High, Charlie Drown, Church of Hate and Dispair Works for all they did to make it happen.

New Additions

So I just fixed the links on the music page of the website. Now there is a spot to click and download each of the songs that we've posted. I also added a link at the bottom of the page to send you over to the youtube video for "Looking Out, Looking In". Thank you to the people who have checked out the video, we are up to 32 plays! I'm weaving some new ideas for the next couple of videos. Some interviews, instructional lessons, live, recording, practice, all about town, and even some animated flash videos. To find out when those new items get uploaded, and follow our up to date news, please sign up for our newsletter by clicking the "Fan Signup" button at www.Lefthead.com .
